Lyrics to Thankful

Thankful by Aaron Pritchard

I know I don't tell you near enough
My mind's always cluttered with other stuff
I race and I rush
I'm always tired and tangled

But I'm down here on the ground
Taking a good, hard look around
I wanna tell you now,
That I'm so thankful...

For every new day that I'm still breathing
This blue sky sun shine feeling, I'm feeling
For every moment I have
I'm so thankful...

For the beautiful colorful world that surrounds me
The love in the eyes of the people around me
I want you to know
I am so thankful

I think about that fiery crash
That night in the rain everything went black
I walked out without a scratch in the arms of an angel

But when I look out to the west
On a beautiful day at that red sunset
I know I've been so blessed
And I'm so thankful...

This blue sky sunshine feeling, I'm feeling
For every moment I have
I'm so thankful...

For the beautiful, colorful world that surrounds me
The love in the eyes of the people around me
I want you to know, God, that I am so thankful

I could count my blessings all day long
‘Cause once I start
The list goes on and on and on and on

The smile on my face, the hand I’m holding
From where I’ve been and where I’m going
For every moment I have, I’m so thankful

For the beautiful, colorful world that surrounds me
The love in the eyes of the people around me
I want you to know, God, that I am so thankful

I am so thankful for every new day that I'm still breathing
This blue sky sunshine feeling, I'm feeling
God, that I am so thankful

Lyrics to Somewhere Over the Rainbow (GLEE)

Oooooh Ooooooh

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high,
There's a land that I dreamed of once in a lullaby
haaaaai

Oh Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Uuuuuh

solo guitar

oooh someday I'll wish upon a star

And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.

Oh somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

Please practice

Write a Constitution

We're finishing up a unit on government. We've established a classroom government where I am "just" a citizen. So far, the checks and balances of the government seem to be working and the students are taking it quite seriously. The judicial branch deliberated the other day and decided that a law that had been passed by the legislature and signed by the president was unconstitutional.

The last assignment is for each student to write a constitution for either their family or InterAmerican Academy. Students are encouraged to get help and feedback from their families and even to ask their family if they would abide by the constitution for a week. The constitution must contain:

A Preamble
Article 1: Legislative branch (Who are they? How do they come into power? What powers do they have? What checks and balances are on their powers?)
Article 2: Executive branch (Same as above)
Article 3: Judicial branch (Same as above)
Article 4: Bill of Rights
Article 5: Responsibilities of citizens

The assignment is due Wednesday, May 11th and is being done at home. Students are encouraged to type their constitution.
